At Metal Heart Jewelry you can learn a wide range of jewelry making techniques. Fabrication is the primary method of making contemporary jewelry. Wires and flat sheets of metal are cut, formed, hammered, pressed and soldered into pendants, rings, earrings, bracelets and chains. Casting is another way to create in metal. Casting allows for more sculptural, or organic forms to made first in wax then in metal. Once a piece of jewelry is fabricated or cast, stones can be set and the piece is finished. Silver is the most popular metal to work in at Metal Heart Jewelry, but people also work in copper, brass, nickel and gold. You can find out more about jewelry making at: mailto:k_sklar@yahoo.com
Classes are held in the Casket Arts Building in Northeast Minneapolis.
